Pastor's Note 11.29.2019

Good Day Family,

Advent marks the beginning of the Christian year and includes the four Sundays leading up to Christmas Day. During this time, we are encouraged to reflect upon the coming of Christ into the world and into our lives. Our worship series theme, Enthroned in Light, reminds us that Jesus is still on the throne and continues to bring light into our world.

Our God has come to us, is coming, and will come again. Advent celebrates and reminds us all of that. While the rest of the world is immersed in the commercialization of these holy days, let us set aside time to commit anew to receiving and sharing that light among us. Last Sunday, we began to distribute our 2019 Advent Daily Devotional for your use. Next Wednesday, we will begin our shared study of Not a Silent Night, with our friends from First Methodist Church. It’s our honor to host the discussion this year, and I pray you will join us.

Most of all, I pray that you encounter the abiding presence of God in your life and feel the blessings of holy expectation.

In anticipation,

Be well,

Pastor Cheryl
