When I first came to the church, four years ago, I met with Pastor Paul from the United Methodist Church. He shared the joint services in which our two faith communities joined together for worship or Bible Study. I also found out that more churches used to participate in these activities that foster communion and fellowship among followers of Jesus in Wellington. I have noticed that we as a congregation tend to have less than optimal participation for these gatherings even though I have heard that many value continuing our relationship with the First UMC.
Relationships require nurture and tending. Now that Pastor Hyeran Yu is the new UMC pastor, we’re building a new relationship. We’ve reinstituted the joint Outdoor Worship Service last year, which we will celebrate this Sunday at Findley Park in the Pavilion at 10 am. I will be preaching, and we will join together in prayer and song followed by a potluck lunch. I hope you will join us and show the value this relationship holds for both our churches.
Pleased to be together,
Be well,
Pastor Cheryl
Let us encourage one another. Let us love our neighbor. Let us be the church.
