Pastor's Note 10.18.19

Good Day Family,

Autumn is truly here. Temperatures are falling, leaves are turning, and pumpkin can be found everywhere. Sometimes, we can’t wait for a new season, and still other times, we find ourselves not ready. Not ready for the shift that comes from the time change. Not ready to bring out the sweaters and blankets. And, if you’re like me, you wait until you can barely stand it to turn on the heat.

But each season brings with it unique experiences—moments that you cannot capture at any other time. Embracing seasonal change enables us to move with the flow and natural rhythm that God plants into our lives. And one of the best aspects of fall is that it’s harvest time. What’s been planted in spring and nurtured through summer is reaped in autumn.

What have you planted and nurtured….that is ready for harvesting?

What is ready to come out of the ground, fully formed, and ready to be used?

It might be gifts that you’ve been cultivating. It might be a dream waiting for your full effort. It might even be a leap of faith for something outside your comfort zone.

Seasons can creep up on us, taking us by surprise, and catching us off guard. I can remember many a winter that felt like it would never end…until suddenly spring arrived. It seemed that this fall came upon us the same way. But, that suddenness should only encourage us to seize every moment of the season, enjoy it’s unique opportunities, and rejoice in the God who takes the journey with us.

Be well,

Pastor Cheryl
