Pastor's Note 10.11.19

Good Day Family,

Trust God. It sounds so simple, but it isn’t always easy. It stretches our faith beyond what seems reasonable or even doable. But wee know, at least intellectually, that with God…all things are possible. In the midst of uncertainty, trust may be our only assignment.

Trusting God through medical treatments.

Trusting God through loneliness and despair.

Trusting God through grief.

Trusting God through financial struggles.

Trusting God through disappointments.

Trusting God through uncertainty.

It’s so hard to do, but we often forget we don’t have to do it by ourselves. God calls us into community. We were made for each other, to share the joys and concerns of our lives, and to reach out to God in a communal voice. We can lean on each other. Recently, I saw a dear friend who was struggling with cancer for months. She’s in a good place, with a good report from the doctor. And she said to a group of us, thank you for your prayers…when I couldn’t pray for myself.

That’s what this faith journey is about. Relying on God’s grace and drawing strength from all the friends that God places in our lives. Let’s trust God ourselves and for one another.

In trust,

Be well,

Pastor Cheryl
