Pastor's Note 01.17.2020

I put all my hope in the Lord. He leaned down to me; he listened to my cry for help. (Psalm 40:1)

Good Day Family,

God leans down. I love the picture of this. A loving Mother/Father God leaning down from their high perch to get on the level of their child. I can hear God’s questions:

What’s wrong?

What do you need?

Why are you afraid?

What’s causing you anxiety?

And I can hear God’s assurance, comfort and encouragement:

You can trust me.

I am here.

Wisdom tells us to trust in the Lord and lean not unto our own understanding. The Psalmist reminds us that God leans into our situation. That the God who sits high, looks low. The God of heaven is also the God of earth.

Never too far. Never uninterested. Never turning away from us.

God leans down. Thanks be to God.

Seeking Wisdom,

Be well,

Pastor Cheryl
