Life in the Spirit

“So now there isn’t any condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

(Romans 8:1)

Life in the Spirit

Good Day Family,

It’s interesting how widely Christian public witness seems to be centered on judgement and condemnation. The good news of Jesus Christ is love embodied, relentless, and abundant. The Apostle Paul knew this. One who was formerly dedicated to a strict adherence to the Law, he came to wholly embrace grace. It should be noted that a close reading of the Law shows that grace was always a part of God’s plan for humanity. We weren’t made for perfection; we were created for companionship. In these words to the church at Rome, Paul reminds them that a life right with God is lived in communion

with the Spirit.

“People whose lives are based on selfishness think about selfish things, but people whose lives are based on the Spirit think about things that are related to the Spirit. The attitude that comes from selfishness leads to death, but the attitude that comes from the Spirit leads to life and peace.”

(Romans 8:5-6)

The Spirit never lets us down. The Spirit opens doors that are otherwise closed. The Spirit closes doors that lead us into dangerous paths. When we learn to trust the guidance of the Spirit, even when it does not make human sense, our life receives new possibilities…and grace abounds.

In the Spirit,

Be well,

Pastor Cheryl

Let us encourage one another. Let us love our neighbor. Let us be the church.
