Gods grace

11 We are constantly praying for you for this: that our God will make you worthy of his calling and accomplish every good desire and faithful work by his power. 12 Then the name of our Lord Jesus will be honored by you, and you will be honored by him, consistent with the grace of our God and the Lord

Jesus Christ. (2 Thessalonians 1:11–12)

Worthy of God’s Calling

Good Day Family,

The Apostle Paul prayed for the church, not just for their regular cares and concerns, but for the people gathered by God to do the will of God and walk in the way of God. I firmly believe that each of us is called by God to live a life that brings glory and honor to God. But that call is only accomplished through God’s (not our own) power.

Think of all the tools made in the world. Whether they are simple or complex, small or large, they all have something in common. They are fueled—or powered—by an external force. A hammer needs a human hand to wield it. A car needs electricity or gas to power it. A wick needs a match to enflame it. We are meant for community in nearly every aspect of our lives…with God and with each other.

So many times it seems that what God asks of us is too much. And it is too much for us to do on our own. We need the power of God and the prayers of the people. We need the strength of God and the support of our friends. This makes our lives a testimony to the goodness, love, and grace of God. Let us pray this prayer of Paul’s for each other today and see what God will do in and through us.

Striving in God’s grace,

Be Well,

Pastor Cheryl

Let us encourage one another. Let us love our neighbor. Let us be the church.
