10.09.2020 Pastor's Note | Women in the Word

Good Day Family,

Women in the Word

There are, in fact, lots of women in the Bible, some named, many more are not. Those women have a testimony to share that we can hear for inspiration, conviction, and commiseration. They were leaders, strong and anointed by God. There were also flawed and in need of God’s grace. They lived full lives…just as the men whose stories are so much more frequently explored.

One of the Sacred Questions I have received was a request to learn more about those stories. Well, ask…and you shall receive! Our fall Bible Study will explore The Bad Girls of the Bible by Rev. Barbara Essex, the best-selling author of the Pilgrim Press, a mentor and friend of mine who attended my installation! We’ll begin the study in November to give time to order the books. They can be found on Amazon or through the Pilgrim Press. If you need help finding the book, let me know.

Congregational Updates: Our first prayer service was a wonderful time of sharing and reflection in the Sanctuary. Please plan to join us when you can on Thursdays at 11:15 am! Prayer changes things! We might be able to squeeze in another parking lot meet up or two. Our next meet up will be Sunday, October 18 at 1 pm. Also, be on the lookout for information for our Semi-Annual Meeting.

This week, I share words from our Association General Minister, Rev. Nayiri Karjian, who writes about A Messy Faith. I pray her reflections blesses you.

Be well,

Pastor Cheryl
